Enable peak-hold for SSB voice peaks

Peak-hold freezes the needle at its highest deflection so you can read SSB voice peaks without having to watch the meter continuously.

Before you start

  • You must be connected to a FLEX-8600 radio.
  • The Cross-Needle Meter applet must be open (Applet panel > Cross-Needle tile).

Steps

  1. Locate the Peak hold toggle button near the meter face.
  2. Click Peak hold to turn it On.

The needle now holds at its peak position, then decays when the incoming power drops.

What each control does

Control Type Default Setting key
Peak hold Toggle button Off (none persisted)

Tips

  • Peak-hold is most useful in SSB; for AM or FM with constant carrier you may prefer it Off for instant response.
