Submit your idea... 💡¶
This page explains how to use Help > Submit your idea... 💡 to report a bug or propose a feature request using an AI assistant. The workflow copies a pre-filled prompt to your clipboard and opens the AI provider's website so the AI can help you check for duplicates and structure your submission.
Before you start¶
- You need an active internet connection. The menu item checks GitHub for a newer AetherSDR release before opening the dialog.
- You need an account with at least one of the supported AI providers: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, or Perplexity.
Steps¶
- Click
Help > Submit your idea... 💡. - If AetherSDR detects that a newer release is available, a warning is displayed. Review it before continuing, as your issue may already be resolved in the newer version.
- The AI-Assisted Issue Reporter dialog opens. Read the step-by-step instructions shown in the dialog.
- Click the button for your preferred AI provider: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, or Perplexity.
- AetherSDR copies a pre-filled prompt to your clipboard and opens the selected provider's website in your default browser.
- In the browser, paste the clipboard contents into the AI chat input and submit it.
- The AI checks the AetherSDR GitHub repository for duplicate issues and produces a structured bug report or feature request. Review the AI's output, then use it to open a GitHub issue.
What each control does¶
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| Claude | Copies the pre-filled prompt to the clipboard and opens the Claude website. |
| ChatGPT | Copies the pre-filled prompt to the clipboard and opens the ChatGPT website. |
| Gemini | Copies the pre-filled prompt to the clipboard and opens the Gemini website. |
| Grok | Copies the pre-filled prompt to the clipboard and opens the Grok website. |
| Perplexity | Copies the pre-filled prompt to the clipboard and opens the Perplexity website. |
Tips¶
- The prompt instructs the AI to search for existing GitHub issues before drafting a new one. Let the AI complete that step before copying its output into a new issue.
- If the version warning appears, consider updating AetherSDR first and checking whether the bug or missing feature is already addressed.
