Reset NR2 or NR4 parameters to defaults¶
Use the Reset Defaults button on the NR2 or NR4 tab to restore all parameters for that engine to their factory values in a single click.
Before you start¶
- AetherSDR must be running. A radio connection is not required to access AetherDSP Settings.
Steps¶
Reset NR2 defaults¶
- Click
Settings > AetherDSP Settings.... - Click the NR2 tab.
- Click Reset Defaults.
All NR2 controls return to the values in the table below.
Reset NR4 defaults¶
- Click
Settings > AetherDSP Settings.... - Click the NR4 tab.
- Click Reset Defaults.
All NR4 controls return to the values in the table below.
What each control does¶
NR2 defaults restored by Reset Defaults¶
| Control | Default | Valid range | Setting key |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gain Method | Gamma | Linear | Log | Gamma | Trained | NR2GainMethod |
| NPE Method | OSMS | OSMS | MMSE | NSTAT | NR2NpeMethod |
| AE Filter (artifact elimination) | Enabled | β | NR2AeFilter |
| Reduction Depth: | 1.50 | 0.50β2.00 | NR2GainMax |
| Smoothing: | 0.85 | 0.50β0.98 | NR2GainSmooth |
| Voice Threshold: | 0.20 | 0.05β0.50 | NR2Qspp |
NR4 defaults restored by Reset Defaults¶
| Control | Default | Valid range | Setting key |
|---|---|---|---|
| Noise Estimation Method | SPP-MMSE | SPP-MMSE | Brandt | Martin | NR4NoiseEstimationMethod |
| Adaptive Noise Estimation | Enabled | β | NR4AdaptiveNoise |
| Reduction (dB): | 10.0 | 0.0β40.0 dB | NR4ReductionAmount |
| Smoothing (%): | 0 | 0β100 | NR4SmoothingFactor |
| Whitening (%): | 0 | 0β100 | NR4WhiteningFactor |
| Masking Depth: | 0.50 | 0.00β1.00 | NR4MaskingDepth |
| Suppression: | 0.50 | 0.00β1.00 | NR4SuppressionStrength |
Tips¶
- Reset Defaults affects only the tab where you click it. Resetting NR2 does not alter NR4 settings, and vice versa.
- Changes take effect immediately. If NR2 or NR4 is active on a receive slice at the time, you will hear the engine revert to its default behaviour as soon as you click Reset Defaults.
- In v0.9.7 the AetherDSP Settings dialog delegates all controls to an embedded
AetherDspWidget. The tabs, sliders, and buttons described in this article remain identical from an operator's perspective; only the internal implementation has changed.
