Clear every spot from the panadapter¶
This page explains how to remove all currently displayed DX spots from the panadapter in a single action. Use this when the spot overlay is cluttered and you want a clean slate without changing any other spot settings.
Before you start¶
- AetherSDR must be running.
- At least one panadapter must be open with spots visible.
Steps¶
- Right-click anywhere on the panadapter to open the context menu, then select the option that opens the Spot Settings overlay.
- In the Spot Settings dialog, click Clear All Spots.
All spots are immediately removed from the panadapter. New spots will continue to arrive and display normally according to your current settings.
Tips¶
- Clear All Spots does not affect incoming spots from your DX cluster or other sources. Spots will reappear as new ones are received.
- The Total Spots: indicator at the bottom of the Spot Settings dialog shows the count of live spots currently tracked. After clearing, this count will reflect only spots received after the clear action.
- To stop spots from appearing entirely, use the Spots: toggle to set it to Disabled instead. See Turn spots on or off.
- The Spot Lines: toggle controls whether vertical lines are drawn from the spectrum baseline up to each spot label. This setting is independent of Clear All Spots. If the panadapter feels visually busy during a contest, set Spot Lines: to Disabled before or after clearing spots to reduce clutter without removing the spot labels themselves.
